- Joseph Holmes, landscape photographer-

I've had alot of photos of animals and flowers that I've been keeping for a long time, some since the start of Spring quarter. I finally decided to post them.
First up is a squirrel again! This time its grey in color instead of brown! Plus, this guy here let me come sooo close until I couldn't focus any closer. He/she is so much braver than the brown squirrels. The nuts on the ground were worth the risk of getting close to humans I guess.

The next critter is the caiman. Its inside the Biotrek center and its the star of field trips made to Biotrek. Also inside a tank in Biotrek is a gecko, who's proper name I forgot.

Ladybird!

The next three photos was actually part of my work the the College of Science. The biotrek staff found a hummingbird nest thats accessible to photography. It had two eggs in it at the time I was told about it.

The nest is a little over two inches in diameter. The eggs were like the size of the fingernail on your pinky. Here's mummy incubating the eggs...

About two weeks later, they hatched into two tiny little hummingbird babies.

After about 6 days, I found the whole nest deserted! Everything just died... something probably ate the babies up...
Right now, its getting hotter than Malaysia in the afternoon, about 35 degrees. The poor flowers are all dying or getting burnt under the heat. There's soo many roses around campus, so there are still some pretty intact flowers that I could find. These are definitely the best rose shots I've done in quite awhile because of the lighting. I was lucky I went at the right time.

This last one is my favourite.

**Ahhhh, I haven't felt this satisfied in a LONG time!**

I do photography part time and for the most part just for the fun of it. I shoot all sorts of genre's but I have a deep fondness for macro photography. I love experimenting with new ways of taking pictures, either during picture taking or in post processing.
This blog is my small space on the web set up mainly for my family and friends to know what I've been up to.
